Barry Bennett provide non-medical help for students with disabilities and are a leading supplier in DSA equipment to the UK.
The New Fat team were asked to design a brochure to provide students with an overview of who Barry Bennett are and what they do, as well as offering an insight into the range of support workers available.
Legibility Considerations
A5 in size the brochure needed to be clear and concise and optimised for easy reading. Recommended for dyslexics the brochure would be set using the font Verdana.
The Design
Barry Bennett have a clear brand style. A vibrant orange paired with a cool grey and turquoise sit alongside sweeping graphic elements, complimenting the shapes within their company logo. Sticking to a brand style is important for consistency and familiarity, so we ensured this brochure would sit nicely alongside existing marketing material.
The client supplied a selection of images. These were used to add visual interest and to break up the text - perfectly incorporating them into a Barry Bennett swoosh. Implementing a sweep across the double page spread added energy and highlighted associated imagery.
Throughout the brochure the tagline ‘achieve your potential in education!’ can be seen as a mini mantra in the page footer, culminating with a feature on the back cover. Originally this feature page was intended for the inside of the front cover but due to the layout and number of pages available it had to be moved. However it was ideally suited for the back cover and provided a nice end to the brochure.
Offering a clear insight into the non-medical support provided, this Barry Bennett brochure fulfils the brief. Clear fonts, bold titles and interesting imagery combined with brand colours for consistency, create a great little A5 brochure perfect to hand out to students at events and to send in the post.
