The Old Diorama Arts Centre - Website Redesign

“The New Fat are fantastic! They have assisted us every step of the way: from helping build our brand identity, suggesting colours and themes, building our website and promoting our business. They give a lot of effort and care for a great deal of value, and in a very personal bespoke way. The New Fat are very creative and contemporary, they had lots of appropriate and innovative ideas for us to work with. We love our responsive website design – very crisp, clean and creative while being on budget and on-brand. The New Fat team were approachable, helpful and kind while being very knowledgeable and effective. They were very considerate, taking care to check-in with us regularly and spending a lot of time explaining things – thanks guys!”

CREATIVE DIRECTOR, OLD DIORAMA ARTS CENTRE

Project Overview: Marketing Plan and Website Redevelopment

Old Diorama Arts Centre is a London based charity established in the 1970s. Hiring out high quality performance space for established and emerging artists and running an exciting creative programme to support local community groups. The New Fat were commissioned to review all the marketing material and come up with a marketing plan, which would ensure all communications both internally and externally were brand consistent.

As well as refreshing the logo and coming up with templates for in-house sales tools, our main project was to design and develop a new responsive website showcasing the excellent modern facilities the venue has to offer – with the aim of attracting new artists, production houses and event managers.

Brand Style

As well as a very colourful and dynamic history, the centre has a strong brand identity with an established following in both the local area and industry. Our aim for the new website was to build on this reputation – bold, bright, spacious and bringing in a professional and modern visual feel – reflecting the fabulous purpose built studios they now occupy.

The Use of Media

Images and video content is invaluable to this kind of project – adding real atmosphere to the website. Large scrolling banners, multiple image headers and image driven navigation was included – plus the ability to add video into page content. From a user experience perspective this large focus on imagery made the site visually content rich and encouraged multiple page browsing around the site.

The Finished Site

The finished site is clean, modern and easy to use. You get a really good sense of the architectural design and ambience of the centre.

In the backend the client can edit page layouts and quickly update page content, including gallery images, banners and PDF downloads. In the frontend, the homepage is content rich and provides the user a direct link to almost every part of the site. The hire space pages are easy to navigate, providing clear indications of pricing. The website is responsive and works well on smart phones and tablets as well as conventional desktop computers.

On-going Support
The website content is fully administrable by Old Diorama Arts, however we are always in the background keeping the site security up to date, providing email support and any general maintenance – so we are on hand to help if needed.
Do take a look at the final site and let us know what you think! https://www.olddiorama.com
